8th International Plastics Exhibition & Conference
New Delhi, INDIA
1,600 (2/3 approximately Indian and 1/3 foreigner) exhibitors, 55,000 net sqm, 10 national collectives, 150,000 (estimated) visitors, these are the numbers of this important triennial exhibition.
Apart from the figures, nearly 50 Italian exhibitors (about thirty within the national pavilion and other 20 with their local agents or directly with their local branches) seem satisfied with the exhibition. Indeed, the Indian market, as well as the Chinese one, is actually one of the more promising markets at global level. The plastics per capita consumption is still low (less than 10 kg) and the potential growth (i.e. in packaging and building sectors) is huge.
According to the official statistics, on the basis of ISTAT data, in the first 9 months of 2011 the Italian sectoral export towards India has reached 44 million euros, by exceeding indeed 41 million recorded in the whole 2010. Waiting for the final data, it is really possible to exceed 46,8 million euros recorded in 2007, the best result ever.
