Absorbent products recycling

As in any production area, production waste also exists in the absorbent products industry. To avoid that complex products like these, made of various types of materials, are simply thrown in landfields, Tecnofer developed a specific technology that separates and valorises every compenent of these waste products.

What is obtained from clean absorbent products and diapers (PAP waste) through Tecnofer solutions are quality secondary raw materials such as SAP (super absorbent polymer), plastic and cellulose. All these materials become exploitable resources in terms of business, and make undestandable the value of absorbent products recycling and diapers reciclying, products otherwise destined to landfied.

Through the Tecnofer PAP waste recovery process it is possible to obtain clean material ready to be reintroduced into the production processes. Absorbent product waste, in fact, is often linked to some structural or image defect. Consequently, the materials of which it is made are fully recoverable.

  • The SAP (super absorbent polymer) can be separated from the plastic fraction and be reused both for the production of new absorbent items and in agricultural and nursery sectors.
  • The plastic fraction, separated from cellulose and SAP, can be reused to produce high quality plastic goods or for composite materials.
  • Cellulose fiber, on the other hand, can be used for the production of litter, absorbent products for animals and insulating materials.

The separation process of these materials is carried out through Tecnofer units specifically configured for the recycling of absorbent products, which are fully manageable through the electrical panel. The automation of the process, developed entirely by Tecnofer, provides efficiency and safety to the entire cycle, as well as an optimized use of water and energy resources.
