Biggest numbers of visitors ever for CHINAPLAS

CHINAPLAS 2014 concluded with a total of 130,370 visitors, among them 36,841 people, or more than 28%, came from outside of China – both are new records achieved by the Asia’s No.1 and world’s No.2 plastics technology event. The second day of the four-day CHINAPLAS 2014 (The 28th International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries) attracted the highest number of visitors, with 47,285 attendants, according to the organizer, Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. It confirmed a continuous rise in the proportion of overseas visitors in this international show that takes place in China. In 2012 edition of CHINAPLAS in Shanghai, the proportion of overseas visitors was 25.59%, which rose to 26.97% in last year’s edition in Guangzhou, and 28.26% this year.
Assistant General Manager, Sales & Marketing, of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., Ada Leung, attributed the growing popularity of CHINAPLAS among overseas buyers to the fact that CHINAPLAS has been recognized as an effective platform for industrial sourcing and for getting the latest information on market trends and technology.
The show provides a one-stop shop for them to see a comprehensive range of raw materials and machinery from over 3,000 suppliers from around the globe. Many cost-effective solutions can be found at the show, with the large participation of exhibitors from China, Asia and Europe.
‘What they see, find and get from CHINAPLAS can support the changing needs of their business development and enable them to stay at a competitive edge in the industry. I believe these account the most for the continuous rise in the number of overseas visitors,’ said Ms Leung.
‘We are happy with the result of the show as very positive feedbacks are received from our exhibitors and visitors. The visitor figures this year are very encouraging and we are glad that our preshow promotions have proved to be effective. Also thanks to the nice weather during show time, which enabled things to run smoothly and successfully.’
CHINAPLAS 2014 hosted over 3,000 exhibitors with a total exhibition area of around 230,000 sqm. All the 17 indoor halls in the Shanghai New International Expo Center were fully utilized, while 13 outdoor halls and 6 exhibition suites were built in the central square of the exhibition venue.
The next edition of CHINAPLAS will again be held in Guangzhou, from May 20 to 23. It is understood that most exhibitors this year have submitted rebooking onsite at CHINAPLAS 2014.
Ms Leung assured that future CHINAPLAS shows would be further strengthened in many aspects, in particular, creating additional value for the show participants – both exhibitors and visitors.
For the exhibitors, the organizer will strive to come up with more effective and creative promotion options. And for the visitors, onsite services will be further enhanced, and more concurrent events and seminars of interest will be organized.
Arnold Sillipp, Regional Sales Manager, Starlinger, said they were satisfied with the visitors flow.
‘There were many industry experts and a lot of them came from overseas, such as Egypt, India, Middle East and even South America.’
Maguire Products, Inc. has nothing but praise for CHINAPLAS 2014. ‘For us, CHINAPLAS is always a sales booster. Sometimes we might start a bit slow after a new year, but after CHINAPLAS the whole situation changes. I am expecting the same this time,’ Frank Kavanagh, Vice President of Sales, comments. ‘To my surprise there are visitors from Americas, even from Honduras!’
